Pentjie Zulu fed up with lengthy trial, leaves Platinum Stars camp

Free agent Pentjie Zulu has left Platinum Stars’ camp in frustration after being made to wait for the results of his assessment for close to a month.

The former Chippa United left-back has even featured in the club’s pre-season friendlies, but despite impressing he hasn’t been signed.

The return of Luvolwethu Mpetha on a permanent transfer from Supersport United and Siyabonga Zulu’s re-emergence after going AWOL have compromised Zulu’s chances of getting a deal with the Phokeng-based club.

Having been on the books of Jomo Cosmos and Bidvest Wits in the past, needing a long trial period at Stars did not sit well with Zuu.

“I told them I’m leaving,” Zulu tells KickOff.com. I had a hamstring [injury] for three days and today when I came back I was training with the MDC team, I have had enough.

“I’m on my way to Johannesburg to meet with my agent because he told me he’s got some deals for me. I left because I was kept waiting for too long.”

The club’s general manager Senzo Mazingisa declined to comment on the matter as he is outside of the coutry and not in touch with the issues at this present time.

“I’m in Rwanda right now, so I’m not going to say anything… I’m not there,” said Mazingisa.
